REVEALING (the) LAND. Proposal for the European architectural competition RETHINK ATHENS Our proposal aims to unfold the natural sub-layer of the city – the land – and to point out the idea that nature and urban elements are interwoven and interdependent. The main concept in our design is to uncover the Attica’s physical substratum as well as the Athenian historical layers, in a creative way. The land becomes the structuring and unifying element of the site. A dynamic relation is thus created between natural and artificial elements, which allows the creation of a new urban open space that is flexible and adaptable to changes.
